Competition Rules

The competition is in the form of a 4 ball better ball match play knockout, with a maximum of four rounds before the Grand Final. The first round will be played from the 19th April 2025, with the final Fourth Round to be completed no later than the 30th September 2025. It is envisaged that 10 teams will make the Grand Final which will be held on the 17th October 2025.

To enter, you MUST have a either a CDH or iGolf official handicap, and the maximum handicap allowed is 28 for men (before adjustments) and 36 for women golfers.

Construction Pairs

  1. The Construction Pairs (CP) Match Play Championship is a national seasonal match play event played under 'The Rules of Golf' for match play as laid down by The R&A and in the spirit and etiquette of the game we all love.
  2. The draw for the knockout rounds will be regionalised set out by the CP committee to ensure travel time is kept to a minimum.
  3. The Tournament is open to male and female golfers aged 16 and over with a valid club CDH number or official iGolf handicap.
  4. Teams must nominate a home course upon registering for the event at which they will play their home matches unless it is agreed with the drawn opponents to play at an alternative venue.  
  5. The home drawn team for each round is responsible to check the portal and contact their opponents to arrange a mutually convenient date and time to play the match. Both teams are responsible for ensuring the match is played in a timely manner and by the round deadline. 
  6. Round Deadlines will not be amended except in exceptional circumstances which will be at the sole discretion of the CP Committee.
  7. The cost of any green fees charged should be shared equally between all four players and paid before the match commences. This ensures equity across the whole competition on average.
  8. Each team is responsible to verify the opponent’s handicaps are correct on the day of the match and agree shots to be given prior to the match commences.
  9. For the men, matches will be played from the course tees of the day, with the ladies playing from the red tees.
  10. Matches all square after 18 holes will be decided by a 'sudden death' play-off maintaining shot allocations initial match.
  11. The winners of each match are required to upload the result to the CP website/App. This needs to be verified by the losing team to make the result valid. In the event the result is not verified by round deadline then the CP Committee will investigate and award the match accordingly. 
  12. In the unlikely event that the  Construction Pairs (CP) Match Play Championship 2025 cannot be played then a full refund of the entry fee will be applicable excluding the Admin and processing fee.
  13. There are no refunds applicable should your team have to withdraw for any reason once the registration has been submitted.  
  14. The CP Committee rulings are full, final and binding.
